Light & ShadowThis series of portraiture was inspired by the conflicts presented through false identity, titled Mirage: An Ulterior Motive. The form of the female and her body language translates her silent disposition. An illusory effect is created with watercolor; her features are concealed by heavy shadows and undefined line, masking her identity, while the negative space implies emptiness and incompleteness. From afar, people seem put-together, complete. However, closer you get, you begin to see how unclear, uncertain, and abstracted they really are. They are stripped; simplicity, shape, and shadow are all that remain.
